Marvel My Fitness - Sevilla
Since arriving in Sevilla, my fitness routine has taken a major hit. Before moving, I was lifting and training 4-5 days a week, with goals of gaining muscle and becoming a stronger, better version of myself. I had just trained for and completed a 13 mile Spartan Race in Asheville, North Carolina with over 20 obstacles, and I was extremely proud of the strength I'd developed over the past year. Honestly, one of the biggest struggles with moving here has been reestablishing these routines of self care, and my fitness goals have been in the back of my mind, making me antsy to get back to the gym.
Although I have been walking anywhere from 2 to 10 miles every day in Sevilla, as walking is my main means of commuting, I am missing lifting, training, and working toward my fitness goals. I am so excited to say that I have finally gotten established enough in my new town, with an apartment, jobs, a bank account, Spanish phone number and everything else, that I have gotten the ball rolling on a fitness group here in Spain!
In collaboration with my hometown gym and trainer, I have created a fitness community in Sevilla in hopes that members can share our interests in physical activity, discover new opportunities and events, meet new people, and grow as individuals!
While I myself am not a personal trainer, Marvel My Fitness (Knoxville, TN, link below) has graciously extended resources that I am happy to share. While training with Marvel, I was fortunate enough to gain experience assisting my trainer, Shamir Peshewa with leading classes, and becoming a trainer is a goal of mine. I am happy to help members work toward their fitness goals in any way possible. I can share work outs, help plan training schedules, or just brainstorm new, fun ways of getting active! I am so excited about this endeavor and I look forward to posting more as it progresses!
