Window on the Bay
We live inside a window carved
Into the green mountainside,
Hugging a bay that brings in
Wild waters from the Atlantic.
The rain slides in sideways,
As if splashed up from the shoreline,
And we bring our mattress into the living room
to be closer to the nature show.
We swallow sips of tea and
breathe out vapor air, giving in
to passing a winter inside the filled up clouds.
There’s water everywhere
On the coast of Galicia
And I’m learning to follow the tide.
